CBI files cheating case against former AIADMK Minister Rajenthra Bhalaji

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an alleged cheating case against former Minister for Milk and Dairy Development K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji and two former AIADMK members following a Madras High Court directive in January this year.

The case was initially registered with the Crime Branch in Virudhunagar on November 15, 2021, on a complaint by S. Ravindran that he was cheated of ₹30 lakh on the promise of arranging a job for his sister’s son. Among those named in the First Information Report are former AIADMK union secretary Vijayanallathambi and former AIADMK member (Thayilpatti) Mariyappan.

The complainant alleged that Mr. Mariyappan used to visit his electronics shop, and allegedly promised that he would secure a job for his sister’s son. He had mentioned the recruitment for the post of district manager in Virudhunagar. Through him, the complainant allegedly got in touch with Mr. Vijayanallathambi, who is said to be close to the former Minister.

He also purportedly visited the former Minister’s residence. The complainant alleged that though he had given ₹30 lakh to the former AIADMK union secretary, his nephew did not get the job.
