A day after the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, J.P. Nadda, suggested that the Opposition needed a “refresher course” in parliamentary rules, the Opposition hit back at the government, when a Union Minister who was scheduled to speak was absent from the House on Tuesday (March 11, 2025).

As per the business of the day in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Ravneet Singh Bittu was scheduled to move a motion for election of one member to the council of the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management. Deputy Chairman Harivansh called out multiple times for the Minister, but he was absent.
Leader of the Opposition and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge then said, “Yesterday the Leader of the House J.P. Nadda said the LoP and the Opposition need to go for a training programme in rules and procedure of Parliament. I want to ask, why doesn’t he train his Ministers who do not come on time?”
On Monday (March 10, 2025), after the Opposition staged a walkout, Mr. Nadda berated them and said they needed a refresher course in parliamentary rules.
