One unidentified militant was killed in the Chenab Valley’s Kishtwar district, as the anti-militancy operation entered the third day on Friday (April 11, 2025).

“One terrorist has so far been neutralised. Despite hostile terrain and adverse weather, relentless operations by our brave soldiers continues,” a spokesman of the Army’s White Knight Corps, in-charge of the Valley, said.

A gunfight erupted between hiding militants and security forces in the upper reaches of Chhatru, Kishtwar, on April 9. “Based on specific intelligence, a joint search and destroy operation along with J&K Police was launched on April 9 in the Chhatru forest Kishtwar,” the Army said.

The Army established a contact and engaged the militants in a firefight late evening on April 9.

In a separate operation in Jammu’s Udhampur, another group of militants is hiding after a firefight on April 9. The militants remain untraced for the third day in the area.

Jammu saw an uptick in militant activities this year. Four policemen and two militants were killed in March during an anti-militancy operation that continued for days.
