After receiving multiple requests from candidates to extend the last date for submission of online application form for Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday (March 22, 2025) evening announced that the revised last date for submission of form will be March 24 up to 11:50 p.m.
The NTA will be conducting CUET-UG 2025 between May 8 to June 1 (tentative) in Computer Based test mode in various centres across the country and abroad. CUET-UG provides a single window opportunity to students seeking admission to any Central University or participating State, deemed or private Universities across India after Class twelve.
While the online submission of application forms of the exams was available from March 1 onwards, several aspiring candidates raised complaints of inability to log in to the NTA website on Saturday (March 22, 2025). The NTA had earlier set a deadline of March 22 as the last day to send in the applications.
NTA Joint Director Dr Archana Shukla has also stated in a circular that the last date for successful final transaction of fees has been extended to March 25 up to 11.50 pm and students can apply for correction in particulars between March 26 and March 28 up to 11:50 p.m.
Among the various technical glitches faced by the students were issues like not being able to receive One-Time Password (OTP) required to complete the registration, not being able to view Captcha, which prevented them from submitting forms, and facing difficulties due to crash in website multiple times, due to server issues, causing delays in the registration process.
Students took to the social media to appeal for an extension in registration deadline. One aspirant wrote on social media platform X, “Please extend the deadline of CUET-UG registration. CUET-UG website not working it shows session expired or not opening website. Please do something. Today is the last date.”
Another aspirant stated on X, “Most frustrating thing I am experiencing since two days. Today is last day for CUET-UG 2025 registration and my application hasn’t been submitted. Reason this govt. website keeps crashing. I have logged in appx. 50 times.”
Journalist and Author Rasheed Kidwai also took to X stating, “CUET-UG website not functioning properly… unable to load applications.”
