Both House of the Parliament today (March 25, 2025) will look to hold discussion on key bills, following a day which saw repeated adjournments. While the Lok Sabha will continue its discussion on The Finance Bill, 2025, the Rajya Sabha has The Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 on its agenda today.
The Upper House is also expected to take up The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which has already been passed by the Lok Sabha.
Parliament commenced on a stormy note this week, as BJP members questioned Congress about an alleged remark made by their Karnataka leader D.K Shivakumar pertaining to reservations for Muslims. Lok Sabha saw multiple adjournments before it moved on to a discussion on The Finance Bill, 2025. The Rajya Sabha, meanwhile, barely transacted any business before it was adjourned for the day, owing to similar turmoil over Mr. Shivkumar’s statement.
