The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against unknown accused persons on the charge that they ran a fraudulent recruitment racket and cheated job aspirants on the pretext of employment in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The accused persons offered job appointments for various posts, including peon, cleaner, multi-tasking staff, and lower division clerk, for which they charged money ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per person. “Once payments were made, the candidates were instructed via email to undergo a medical examination at a fake/so-called DRDO-affiliated facility located in New Delhi,” said the agency.

Subsequently, the job aspirants were given fake appointment letters and directed to report for a three-month training session in a fake DRDO office in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

After registering the case, the agency has conducted searches at two locations in Jaipur and one in Delhi.
